There are hundreds of local restaurants in Rocinha where you will be able to try our local Brazilian food inside Rocinha Favela.
Nevertheless, it is really important to state that our favela tour is a non-intrusive tour, respecting the community and the people living in the favela due to the fact that all of our staff is from Rocinha.
The typical Brazilian food
Brazilian food has been heavily influenced by the Portuguese colonization of the 16th century, by slaves brought from Africa, and by indigenous peoples, as well as other European, South American, and Asian countries. After slavery was abolished in 1888, Brazil recruited Europeans and Japanese immigrants to work in the coffee plantations around the country. How do we get to Rocinha?
You will be driven by taxi or a private van to Rocinha, depending on the size of the group. On top of that, our starting time is flexible.
